Services

Assessment

Each assessment is tailored specifically to address your concerns. A range of standardised formal assessments may be used in combination with informal observation of everyday tasks to ensure a wholistic overview is obtained.

There may be questionnaires for parents/teachers to complete prior to the actual assessment appointment.

Assessments take a minimum of 2 hours.

Verbal feedback is given at the time of assessment and a detailed written report is provided within 2 weeks.

Please be advised, that assessment is not always the end point – it just the beginning of a journey that will be at times as daunting as it is rewarding when your child is filled with a sense of achievement when he or she works hard and reaches their goals.

Therapy Sessions

Sessions are approximately 60 minutes long, with 45 minutes allocated to the child, and 15 minutes to communicate and to provide feedback to parents, teachers, support staff and other health professionals.

‘Homework’ activities and/or recommendations will be provided for, and are designed to be fun and engaging for the child, parents and caregivers.

It is important to remember that therapy can occur at any time or place, not just in a weekly or fortnightly session with your OT. Integrating opportunities into every day is vital to maximise your child’s opportunities to develop their skills and reach their potential.

Workshops

There are many professionals and organisations that contribute a child’s development and growth. Recognising and understanding the requirements of children with specific and additional needs is critical to ensuring all children can realise their full potential.

I offer workshops for educational, health professionals and interest groups. These workshops are tailored to meet the needs of the audience.

As an example workshops can be set for Professional Development for:

- Education providers
- Health professionals as part of their annual AHPRA educational requirements
- General Practices to assist Doctors and Practice Nurses to understand the role Occupational Therapy can play to achieve the best for their patients

Workshops in country areas are also catered for.
